Location:  342 Belgrade Ave., Lower North Mankato at the corner of Belgrade Ave. and Cross St.

 

It is open from 8 to 4 Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday every non-national holiday.  If you are taking the written test, you do not have to call.  Make sure you show up before 3:45 that day or they will not allow you to take the test.  Please bring two forms of I.D. (an official copy of your birth certificate from the county courthouse, an MN state ID, a passport, and a social security card can all work for IDs), your blue card, $9.50, and glasses or a contact case if you wish to see if you will not need to have corrective lenses.  You may only take this test once each day.

 

If you are going to take the Behind-the-Wheel test, you MUST CALL FIRST, PREFERABLY ABOUT A MONTH IN ADVANCE.  This is especially true in early spring and summer.  Make sure you bring your white card, your permit, and your insurance card.  You must furnish the car for the test, make sure it is clean, windows are clear of any non-acceptable things, and all things necessary in and on your car work.  You are expected to know how to handle and control your car, so take one you know best.  If you do not pass the behind-the-wheel test, you must wait at least one week before you may retake it.  Make sure you bring $9.50 for the Provisional Class D license, or if over the age of 18, $18.50 for the Regular Class D license.
